1) Look at the Tatler Media Pack. Go to page 2: how does the editor introduce the magazine?
The editor introduces the magazine by stating that the target audience is high class, rich people
2) Now go to page 4 of the Media Pack. Focus on the print magazine (NOT tatler.com - the website). List the key demographic details: age, gender %, ABC1 % (social class), HHI (Household Income), % of those living in London and the South East. What do these demographic details suggest about the average Tatler reader?ABC1 = 83%, AB i= 51%, females = 73%, average age = 41, average HHI = £261,572
These statistics suggest that most average Tatler readers are older and rich. The fact that a majority of people live in London suggest that they are wealthy and high class. The fact that most readers are female illustrate how most of the magazine is about women's fashion.
3) Look at page 6. What do Tatler readers think about fashion? How much do they spend?
They spent £843 million spent on fashion in the past year on designer outfits shown on Tatler.
4) Go to page 10. What are the special editions of Tatler that run throughout the year? What does this suggest about the Tatler audience? What about the pyschographic audience group that best fits Tatler?
Travel guide, wedding guide, beauty and cosmetic surgery guide, spa guide, watches and jewellery guide and schools guide. The typical Tatler audience would be quite feminine, live in luxury and be more materialistic. They would have interests in high class beauty and fashion .
5) What different examples of typography can you find on the cover of Tatler? What are the connotations of the serif and sans serif fonts?
Tatler uses a serif font to build their brand ethos as serious, formal and luxurious. However, in the cover lines the font is just sans to seem inviting and friendly.
6) How do the cover lines appeal to the Tatler target audience?
There is a name check of Boris Johnson the former prime minister suggesting that the audience would have a positive relationship with him because of his political views meaning the audience is typically right winged and high class. They also typically use puns in the cover lines to reward readers for being well educated.

The main colours are pastel colours (her dress) and dark green (the bushes in the background). Green is used to give a natural feel to the magazine whilst the pastel colours connote elegance and beauty.

The costume is seen to be elegant and is a designer ball gown which has synergy with her facial expression to connote to power which most likely resinate with the target audience as they are a majority of high class people most likely with power. The person in the middle is name checked therefor incising the audience into the magazine.

They used Emma Weymouth, a black model and the first black marchioness in British history, in order to seem more modern towards more modern readers to seem more inclusive. They also used Boris Johnson to intrigue the reader as they are likely politics educated,.

It suggests a right-wing audience as the cover lines talk about leaving the EU but also talks about Boris Johnson. However, they call him just 'boris' illustrating how the audience could have a personal connection with him, showing their status.

Rich people are shown as luxurious, on top and to have connections with higher-class people such as the prime minister.Women are represented as elegant and naturally beautiful and are portrayed to be living a lavish life.

Women are shown as feminine and naturally beautiful which reinforces stereotypes of females and that they should always be looking naturally pretty. This is also emphasised with Emma Weymouth being shown posing with luscious green bushes in the background.

Lower class and Middle class are not featured in Tatler as the magazine's target audience is posh and upper class people.

This suggests that life in Britain is wealthy and high class and also has good education for children.

I think ethnic minorities and lower class people would be offended as they are not represented in Tatler magazines.
