Dafne Keen as Lyra Belacqua, Ruth Wilson as Marisa Coulter, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby, Amir Wilson as Will Parry are just some of the starts in this episode. This is a cast that have done many different   things so they can use Starr power to pull a larger audience.

1) How are the technical conventions different between 1963 Doctor Who and 2020 His Dark Materials (e.g. camerawork, editing, sound and mise-en-scene)?

HDM uses much more fast paced editing , Doctor Who is obviously black and white while HDM isn't 

2) What similarities and differences are there between Doctor Who and His Dark Materials in terms of genre and narrative?

Both narratives have a sense of other worldly however Doctor Who is sci-fi so it could be a technical possibility while HDM is fantasy so it uses magic and impossible tools/items .

Is that the main point?  Re-writing this question The advert is trying to convey that this perfume is rich and elegant.In this advert Beyonce is wearing a red dress which connotes to love, passion, elegance and sexuality. The camera angle is low and her facial expression is determined which both portray her as powerful and dominant. This is further emphasised by Beyonce's status as a celebrity.  The high-key lighting is mostly focused on Beyonce as the product is hers and draws the audience's attention to her.  This  advert has text that tells the audience that this product is made by Beyonce which could appeal to more materialistic people (possibly aspirers) as they want to feel as luxurious and elegant as Beyonce . Reception Theory

1)-The preferred reading is the meaning the producers are trying to communicate to the audience. 2)-The  oppositional reading  is when the audience's opinion goes against the meaning the producers are trying to communicate. 3)-The Harry Brown trailer wants the audience's preferred reading to be that the teenagers are violent and dangerous as they are gang affiliated, criminals and some of them murder. 4)-The oppositional reading of the Harry Brown trailer is that Harry is just as much as a criminal as the teenagers are .This could be the interpretation as in the trailer he is seen with a gun and he wants to take revenge. 150 word McDonalds avert analysis 5)- This McDonalds advert's preferred reading is that the burger is worth the money and fresh. The producers want the audience to  think this as they repeat the word "fresh" and "big"."Big"emphasises that the amount is large giving the impression that the burger is big especially for the price
