Demographics And Psychographics

1) What information do media companies use to create a demographic profile of their audience?

-Media companies use things that are fixed at that specific time for example age, gender, location, ethnicity and class. 

2) Why are media companies and advertisers increasingly using audience profiling and not just demographics?

-Media companies and advertisers use audience profiling and not just demographics  because they need to include consumers' hobbies and interests in marketing to make it more appealing to their target population. Also demographic profiling has a lot of restrictions as fixed characteristics can't be the only thing you're marketing for.

3) What psychographic group or groups do you belong in? Think about your own interests and lifestyle and explain your decision. Remember, you may fit into two or three different groups!

-I think I belong in Mainstream and Aspirer. I believe this because everyone is mainstream so I am too and I think I'm aspirer because I care about what other people think however, I am not always thinking in a materialistic way.
